Two of which are public schools—Silver Springs School and W.O Mitchell Elementary—and the other a private, Catholic school—Saint Sylvester School. The children of the public schools get to enjoy many wonderful school events including carnivals, organized hot lunches and even the occasional magic show. The schools of the area also try to make parent/teacher communication easier, allowing parents contact their child's teacher using social media as well more traditional methods.

Community Spirit

At the heart of the community is the Silver Springs Association, a non-for-profit organization that is responsible for community events and programs. Such activities include swimming lessons, dance lessons and a variety of sports. On top of this, they also help maintain facilities such as the commercial kitchen, botanical gardens and two ice hockey rinks.

The Ravine

Officially known as the Bowmont Natural Area, "the ravine" doesn't just provide the perfect view of Calgary's low-lying areas, it also offers kilometers of walking trails, bike paths and the opportunity to discover Calgary's flora and fauna. While you're touring the trails and waterfalls in the area, you might be one of the lucky residents who manage to spot a beaver.
