Schools in NW Calgary are in abundance with many of the communities having their own elementary schools. Junior high and High schools are either located in the community for older areas or within 10 minutes if you’re driving for newer ones. Also located in the NW are The University of Calgary, Sait technical school and the Foothills Medical Centre offering top rated facilities for students wanting to further their educations.
Sports and recreation in the NW is anchored with The Calgary Stampeder's football stadium, Canada Olympic Park (skiing, luge and bobsled tracks, mountain biking and a high level training facility) and the new NW recreation centre, but that’s just the beginning. The Calgary International airport is a 15-25 minute drive away and Calgary's Light rail transit system runs to all quadrants of the city from the NW Crowchild corridor including Downtown Calgary. There are train stations conveniently located at Brentwood/Varsity Acres, Dalhousie, Scenic Acres/Arbour Lake and Tuscany/Rocky Ridge/Royal Oak. Stoney Trail is the major ring road around Calgary and will soon make all quadrants of the city easily available to NW residents.
